Stroke is the most common cause, but aphasia can also occur after head injuries, brain tumor or a progressive neurological disease. The blog provides an account of my experiences over that time, the highs, the lows and some useful ideas I wanted to pay forward and share with others improve skills. My name is Mark Bowra. I had a Stroke. Here is my personal road to recovery. Aphasia can affect a person's ability to understand speech, speak, read, write and use numbers. Only daily interaction and practice do the trick.
