BOWRA'S RIDE ACROSS BRITAIN

SEPTEMBER 2022

In September 2022 Team Bowra took on the epic challenge of cycling 980 miles in 9 days, from Lands End to John O'Groats. The Team took on rugged terrain, rolling hills and twisting road in a true test of stamina and will. With unrelenting determination, a great support team and drive from incoming donations and friends and family along the way, the team absolutely

smashed the route.

on their journey.

3 PEAKS CHALLENGE

MAY 2021

Switching the Bowra 1000 in 2020 to a virtual event left Mark Bowra with unfinished business with the Three Peaks.

In 2021, Mark recruited a team of veterans and people living with neurological injuries to join him in tackling the Three Peaks of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis over three days.

As well as challenging themselves Mark and his team raised vital funds to support Bowra Foundation’s work with veterans and brain injury survivors. The event was proudly supported by Lester Brunt Wealth Management.

BOWRA 1000

JULY 2020

The Bowra 1000 was a 1000-mile multidisciplinary challenge carried out in June-July 2020.

Mark designed the Bowra 1000 to demonstrate that with courage, determination and cheerfulness in the face of adversity anything is possible. It is no coincidence that these key elements of the Commando spirit have helped to create the DNA of the Bowra Foundation.

ISLES OF SCILLY

JUNE 2021

In Summer 2021, Mark led a group of veterans and their family members on a fantastic camping and watersports experience. Focusing on kayaking and conservation activities, the team spent four days in the beautiful Isles of Scilly and the North Atlantic building skills, resilience and friendships.

Veteran participation was generously funded by Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.

WINTER WONDERWHEELS

Team Bowra took part in the Superhero series course at Dorney Lake in early December with 8 of our very own superheroes. Thank you to the team for bringing the fun, motivation and absolutely smashing the course.

The goal was to complete one lap, an impressive 5k course, but the Team had so much fun they carried on to do the full 10k.

Massive thanks to Future Terrain, who made it possible to transport the Team together, and we also can't post without giving a big shout-out to Mother Bowra, who was on motivation station with hand-knitted woolly hats and cakes to keep everyone going!

As always an amazing day, great atmosphere and appreciation for everything these events stand for.
